The Viking Age began with a simple question: why does our Nordic heritage feel so distant in everyday life?
We wanted to make it more present – in a way that feels natural. We chose a watch, an object that accompanies us throughout the day and becomes a quiet reminder of where we come from.
Since the Vikings did not use numbers, we sought a historical foundation to stand on. We found it in the Metonic Cycle and translated its golden numbers into golden runes, based on the Younger Futhark. In this way, history and function are united in a modern form.
At the same time, we want Viking Age to be more than a product. We are also building a gathering place for Norse mythology, traditions and stories about how the Vikings viewed the world – something to explore, learn from and take with you.
Viking Age is about making our heritage visible again – without it being too much.
