Meet Fé – Where Nordic History Meets Modern Design

When we created Vikingatid, we didn't begin with a sketch.

We began with a question.

What would a modern watch look like if it drew its inspiration from Nordic history rather than the traditional world of watchmaking?

The answer became our first collection: Fé Day and Fé Night. Two watches with distinct personalities, yet united by the same story—a story about Nordic heritage, the cycles of time, and how history can still be part of everyday life.

Nordic Heritage on Your Wrist

At the heart of both models lies the same idea. Instead of modern numerals, the dial features Golden Runes inspired by the Metonic cycle and the Nordic calendar tradition, where the Golden Numbers of each year were represented by runes.

For us, the runes are more than a design element. They reflect an older understanding of time—one shaped by the sun, the moon, and the changing seasons. Time was not something to chase, but something to live in harmony with.

That is the feeling we wanted to bring into the present.

Fé Day

Fé Day is the lighter expression of the collection.

Its white dial, paired with a brown leather strap, creates a warm and timeless appearance. The Golden Runes stand out with quiet elegance, while the clean Scandinavian design allows every detail to speak for itself.

The name Day pays tribute to daylight. During the Viking Age, daylight governed work, travel, and everyday life. The sun was nature's clock, guiding people through their days long before mechanical timepieces existed.

Fé Night

Fé Night is the darker counterpart.

The black dial and matching black leather strap create a bold yet understated expression, allowing the Golden Runes to shine against the dark background. Like Fé Day, its design is built on simplicity and balance, where nothing distracts from the story behind the watch.

The name Night represents the other half of the daily cycle—a time when the moon, the stars, and the night sky helped people navigate both the landscape and the passing seasons. Together, Day and Night symbolize the rhythm that has shaped human life for thousands of years.

Why Fé?

Both watches carry the name Fé, the first rune of the Younger Futhark.

Fé is associated with prosperity, abundance, and new beginnings. It felt like the natural choice for our first collection—the beginning of Vikingatid and the first chapter in the story we hope to continue telling.

Designed for Today

Although inspired by history, Fé Day and Fé Night are designed for modern life.

Their slim case, clean lines, and understated Scandinavian design make them equally at home with a tailored suit or a casual knit sweater. They are not intended to recreate the past, but to carry its ideas forward in a contemporary form.

The Beginning of Something Bigger

Fé Day and Fé Night are the first chapters of Vikingatid.

They represent our belief that history does not belong only in books or museums. It can live on in the objects we use every day, quietly reminding us where we come from.

Every time you glance at your Vikingatid watch, you see more than the time.
